MITYVAC / HOLT fluid extractor : How do you clean the inside after pouring out fluid ?

I don't. I don't re-use the old oil that my extractor sucks out of the engine/trans, so I pour it out, and that's it.
Solvents might attack the plastic in the extractor, so I really do just leave it alone.

On the MityVac, I just reverse the flow and pump into a recycle container.
It empties remarkably well.
If I wanted to clean it, I would drain it for a day and then use detergent and hot water, I guess.
But as an extractor, I don't see a time I would want to do this.

If your going to use it for filling engines with new oil then I would get a second one. Other than that, why would you feel the need to clean it?
Never.
I use brake cleaner. Unlike the others here I like to clean mine out. Spray the brake cleaner, swish it around, pour it out
