I'd say they are being humorous. Mitsubishi made some pretty good cars back in the day (Dodge Colts, Galants etc...) but the Mitsubishi designed A/T (KM-175 IIRC) in my 1992 Hyundai Sonata wasn't their best effort....it died @ 109K despite very good maintenance.
That's confidence. Or arrogance; depending on your point of view!
A friend had a '74 Dodge Colt, purchased used in excellent condition in late 1975. 1600/4-speed MT.I'd say they are being humorous. I talked my parents into buying a new 1977 Colt 1600/4-speed MT. It was a base model for $3600 IIRC and it ran like a swiss watch. It was hit while parked and totaled around 1985 or 86 by some teenage moron whose buddy in the backseat covered his eyes as he was driving. I bought it back from the insurance company...pulled the engine and trans and bought a used 78' that needed an engine and installed mine....drove it a few more years and sold it.A friend had a '74 Dodge Colt, purchased used in excellent condition in late 1975. 1600/4-speed MT.
Very good car, especially compared to the other small cars in our circle of friends (a couple of Toyotas, a Datsun, and some older Brit GMs).
Dont forget the Starion coupe......great looking car.A friend had a '74 Dodge Colt, purchased used in excellent condition in late 1975. 1600/4-speed MT.

I know its nitpicking, but that Galant looks like the late 90s/early 2000s model.
I was only guessing at the year. There was to be a question mark added in the parenthesis ...I know its nitpicking, but that Galant looks like the late 90s/early 2000s model.
The Zero, for one, right? They made some great aircraft in WW2, that's for sure.
Yes...the Zero, Raiden, and Betty bomber among many others. Mitsubishi also currently makes a lot of parts for Boeing aircraft. The Zero, for one, right?
I've also spotted the distinctive Mitsubishi logo on a number of parts on other manufacturers' vehicles.
They also make AC units and heat pumps, I think.
Saw a JDM Mitsu van just a day or two ago.

I had a 1973 Dodge Colt GT brand new and it was a very good car....I'd say they are being humorous. The 1600 was a great engine...Chrysler even had performance parts for it. It was called the c2 parts..like 40 mm side draft dual solex carbs..dual points dist. camshaft...pistons and other stuff for the suspension.. The car was used for rallye racing back then...Team Harco was one of the teams in the mid 70s....A friend had a '74 Dodge Colt, purchased used in excellent condition in late 1975. 1600/4-speed MT.
