Let me know how they handle your problem. They were really good with an issue I had with a grease gun.

It's leaking a lot at the snap-in connector where the tube fits into the reservoir. Nothing I can do to fix it, it's replacement time.

Yikes! Three weeks and it's kaput...

Ouch! Lets see how they deal with it, if you have a problem a link to this thread in your next email might be helpful. As I said they treated me well, and I don't think you'll have a problem.

You've got me. I got mine in the OEM box with Amazon labels. Maybe Amazon's handling systems aren't as kind to the units as other retailer's handling.

The main tube is cut at an angle, you may need to trim the main tube to make it flat and when you connect the main tube to the reservoir push in the tube hard until you hear a click. Also, try to tighten the 6 screws on top of the reservoir, they got loose easily and they are the main source of leaking air.

Thanks for the advice! I'm off to give this another go.

Can't edit, so here's the update:

HTSS was spot-on. Tightening everything down, squaring the tube end, and pushing HARD into the connector made it work very nicely. I ran 4 liters of water in/out in a few minutes with no leaks. Much better than the shower I got earlier today.

So, this was user (my) error, not a flaw in the MityVac. Yet.

Customer support was initially responsive, but didn't help any with troubleshooting. They also never responded to my last email asking for troubleshooting tips for making their device extract engine oil from my Buick. They just said what not to do, and implied I was out of luck for getting the oil out of my Buick through the dipstick in the last email I received from them. Even an acknowledgement that I'm on my own for liability reasons would have been nice, and understandable from their point of view.

Rats on Lincoln for not following through on the customer support side. Disappointing from my perspective.

I found some more flexible hose at Lowe's. I'll try that at the next oil change, and see if it works. I totally understand I'm on my own for this, and if it gets stuck in the dipstick tube, then it's my fault, not Lincoln's.
