missing/stuck open thermostat?

I have not. I have one on order waiting to leave it's previous home and arrive at mine. Though from everyone's posts, I think I'm just being paranoid.

This is the first time bought something so old, so I think I'm just mentally expecting there be something wrong.

I don't think you're paranoid. I've had the same, qhen i bought my car 6 months ago my temp gauge was 1mm off centre somtimes. Everybody told me it was fine, but didn't feel good to me. OBD2 read it was only getting 74 degrees celsius, while it should have been 92. Replaced the stat and it was perfect after the replacement

I have a 2005 Century with the 3.1 motor. Mine runs just like yours, even lower on the highway with the heat on. It's normal for these cars. Do you have good heat, mine is really good.
