Might have spoke too soon

Earlier I posted about belt dressing. Now I'm still having the same hollow tap that follows the rpms for a few miles and stops? I cleaned the pullies and everything else really well and installed a new belt.

The sound is comming from the PS pulley and doesn't happen when the belt it off? It sounds kinda like 2 pennys being tapped together. It's not an internal engine noise as it only happens when the belt in on?

How about the the tension... My '84 GM specifies higher tensions for the new v belts. I can't recall the values but it was considerably higher than the ones for the older belts. For the tapping noise when hot and at low rpms "shop manual" mentions the loose v belts.

If the car is a Ford, could just be the power steering pump itself. Nothing new, Fords just have that noise. If it's a GM, could be the belt tensioner getting ready to go out.

Some times diagnosing takes a logical trial and error procedure to find the problem.

Thanks for the help, it's a Grand Cherokee btw. Had a min and took fan/fan shroud and belt off so I could do a thorough cleaning. Soaked each pully with degreaser and used a mild metal brissled brush. Repeated cleaning a couple times and problem has been solved...
