Michelin Guardian wiper blades at Costco?

I HATED the old hybrid design. They were the only bad wipers I've ever had.

Now I just grab $5 beam wipers from Rockauto from whichever warehouse has the rest of my order.
That’s the last time I bought them and they were awful. It was like wiping the windshield with a metal rake as far as sound. The clearing of the window wasn’t much better. I’m pretty ocd about my wipers, from look to performance. The Nissan factory blades are some of the best I’ve ever had but when they wear out, the value advantage is your only choice. They work just as well, just don’t look as nice. I like trico silicone and titans for winter but look way to bulky on the arm. I heard Honda uses the same brand (mitsuba) and sells them at the dealerships, I just haven’t been by a dealer to check. I’d do refills but the frame of the wiper starts to look pretty rough by the time of replacement. I figured $40 for wipers is a pretty solid investment if they last a few years and don’t squeal like a pig.

It's official, I'm not touching these anymore with a ten ft pole.
I'm at my third one one the driver side on the Santa Fe, now it cleans on the way up and streaks on the way down.

I'll update here if whatever I put on next fares better or worse. But at the moment, the blades themselves act like if they were releasing some residue.

And that's over four seasons, so unlikely to be season-specific.

We have Michelin branded wipers here in the UK at our Costco's. Not sure if they're the same items but if they are I can confirm they're terrible.

If the Costco UK website is accurate, looks like they're the older Stealth model that we used to have before the Guardian beam blades. I actually had no issues with those ironically.

Does anyone have any experience with the Michelin Guardian beam wiper blades at Costco? They are quite cheap when on sale but I'm curious how well they perform. The reviews seem to be all over the place. If relevant, I would need 24"/21" and 28"/14" J hook blades.

Used them for years. On sale they are cheap enough to change when old ones start streaking.

Yes, it's these we have. I bought two sets recently. One for my Wife's Volvo and the other for her girlfriends Toyota CHR and they're both jumpy and streaky. I usually use Bosch Aerotwins but happened to pass these in Costco so thought to try them. Strange.

Wipers are a “get what you pay for” kind of thing. Unless you go to an auto parts store and then you pay twice what they should be. Usually. I currently have Michelin silicones on my suv and they’re ok, not even in the same ballpark as trico silicones though. I guess Honda sells the same wipers that come on Nissans from the factory. If I get by a Honda dealer I’m going to check.

I had one detach from the wiper arm during a serious downpour 2 or 3 years ago. There are reports in the 1-star reviews on the Costco site of this happening to others. I won't use them again.

Ford OEM is the best I’ve had in a long time. I learned they are made by Valeo.

OEM blades on my wife’s RAV4 are 11 months old and working like new. Anyone know who Toyota goes with?

I think

our local Toyota dealer uses trico- don’t quote me on this tho

I really do like that style of hybrid wiper blades for hook connectors. They seem lower profile overall as the connector is integrated into the body of the blade. The wiper arm sits a lot closer to the windshield compared to beam wipers with hook connectors.

Seeing how the Michelin blades at Costco are reboxed Trico Flex blades, I might as well try Trico Exact/Asian Fit Hybrid blades

Beam wipers are amazing.

It's these specific Michelins that royally put a Dyson to shame.
My guess is - more so with the consistency of the actual rubber blade than with the engineering of the beam itself.
