Less than 24 hours after accusing the Walt Disney Company of pulling the plug on his latest documentary in a blatant attempt at political censorship, the rabble-rousing film-maker Michael Moore has admitted he knew a year ago that Disney had no intention of distributing it.

quote:

In an indignant letter to his supporters, Moore said he had learnt only on Monday that Disney had put the kibosh on distributing the film, which has been financed by the semi-independent Disney subsidiary Miramax.

But in the CNN interview he said: "Almost a year ago, after we'd started making the film, the chairman of Disney, Michael Eisner, told my agent he was upset Miramax had made the film and he will not distribute it."

Michael Moore is full of s%#* 110% of the time and should be kicked in the crotch for it!

Simple honesty and integrity would solve many of the problems we have in the world today. I wish they would start teaching ethics in the schools.

I could give a crap what kind of films this idiot makes......but if he thinks they are factual and beliveable, well I guess he can think that as well. Me, I can't stand his grandstanding, his attitude that he was graced with all the knowledge all the time.

He's a moron, leave him be.

He'd have a lot more cred if he did a film or two on the Clintons, there's a goldmine of material there.

It's way obvious that he has an agenda and what it is at this point. It must have been way out there if a company as liberally biased as Disney pulled the plug.

I was wanting to see reaction to the film, as he evidently probes what I think is one of most important unanswered questions on 9/11; why did Bush authorize members of the Saudi royal family and the Bin Ladens to leave the US when no other flights were permitted ? Even that ultra-liberal rag the National Review is asking the same question, see below. One stink is that the US was always 'soft' on the Saudis, just more so when Bush came into office as he had personal ties to the Bin Ladens among others, and that he supposedly axed an FBI investigation on ties between some of the Bin Ladens and financing for Al Queda. Another stink is that the Bin Ladens were trying to bribe Osama to not perform any terrorist acts, but obviously it didn't work. Guess we'll never know now.

Ok, couple things needed to dispel : the reason that the Royal Family and the Bin Ladens were allowed to go was that the FBI cleared them, and CIA ok'd it. Bush didn't have a thing to do with it, not to mention, we didn't even have a clue who did it by the time they left anyway, so hindsight is 20/20.

I often do some thinking on what we would have done had we uncovered the plot to execute 9/11 before the infrastructure we have today. They would have been 19 Arab men who are all Muslim with pilot's licences. They would not have done anything wrong YET, and I bet anything the ACLU would have come out of the woodwork and filed a lawsuit on their behalf. The arguement would have been that the FBI was wronging these men because they are all muslims and have pilot's licences. To be honest, with the way that we were conducting oursleves pre-9/11 with regards to security of this nation, I really believe there wasn't anything we could do to completely prevent it, only postpone it.

By the way, I think its hilarious that Disney/Miramax wouldnt release it and called that censorship. The only entity that can censor someone is the government, the rest are business decisions.

The way everyone wants to blame Bush for everything is sort of like blaming the owner of my employer(I have met the guy 4-5 times) for a mistake I make at work. Nothing short of stupid.

That's not exactly true. It depends on what you are making at work. You need to study the role of leadership. It is also true that you as the employee are also responsible for your own actions.

The only way a leader could be responsible for you failing is if he didn't give you all the pertinant information, or the tools to do your job. After that, it's all on your shoulders.

From the National Review:

It's hard to reconstruct precisely how the departures were arranged. The only public statement the Saudis have made was in October 2001, when Prince Bandar, the Saudi ambassador to the U.S., said on CNN, "His Majesty said it's not fair for these innocent people to be subjected to any harm. On the other hand, we understood the high emotions. So with the coordination with the FBI, we got them all out." Otherwise, officials at the Saudi embassy in Washington decline to comment.

When NR called an official at Logan Airport, he said, "You have to talk to the State Department. They're the ones who set it up." But a State Department source said the department "played no role" in the matter. "This is not something we would have brokered," the source said. "Bandar does not need Foggy Bottom to get a phone call returned by the White House." That seemed a clear hint that the White House was involved, but the White House declined immediate comment, saying it would look into the matter.

White House Approved Departure of Saudis After Sept. 11, Ex-Aide Says

ABSTRACT - Richard Clarke, who ran White House crisis team after Sept 11 terror attacks, says top White House officials personally approved evacuation of dozens of influential Saudis, including relatives of Osama bin Laden, from United States in days after Sept 11, when most flights were grounded; says FBI assured him that departing Saudis were not linked to terrorism; says White House feared Saudis could face 'retribution' for attacks if they remained in US; fact that relatives of bin Laden and other Saudis were rushed out of country was known, but Clarke's statements provide first acknowledgment that White House had any direct involvement in plan and that senior administration officials personally signed off on it; Sen Charles E Schumer calls on White House to conduct investigation into hasty departures of 140 Saudis; Clark no longer works at White House (M)

If you think Moore was an ...hole, chucky schumer has to be what comes out of one.
Anybody watch the Waco hearings? Chucky said the "automatic weapons" the FBI was asked to produce were not available. He also couldn't get through his thick head,

or wanted to evade the fact that a flash-bang is a grenade even though thats what it says on the label. They should have tried him as an accomplice to murder, because of his trying to shield the people who did the deed.
