Mercon V / Allison TES-295 Compatibility

Are all TES-295 approved ATF's compatible for Mercon V applications? I'm looking at two HD ATF's that both claim suitability for Mercon V use; for use in a '98 Ford Taurus SHO (AX4N).
*Chevron Synthetic ATF HD
*Petro-Canada HD Synthetic Blend ATF

No , not ALL tes 295 allison fluids are mercon v approved. All are highly friction modified , but each company has to pay for testing and approval fees so not every one will be listed for both. That does not mean they are not suitable either.
If you want mercon v fluid stay with either ford fluid or an approved full synthetic like amsoil atf. This is one case where getting the right fluid is both necessary and cost effective.

For me, best and right fluid always superceeds cost...
Anyone have experience/comments/opinions with the following HD atf's?

*Shell DONAX TX PREMIUM HEAVY DUTY TRANSMISSION OIL

I hear Chevron ATFs are highly regarded. OTH Petro-Canada was the OEM blender for Dexron VI so they know ATF too.

Spoiled for choice.
