While I was in meijer today, I noticed more than a few people buying these batteries today. I was curious who made them.

They say proudly made in the USA, and that's about it....

What do the vent caps look like on a typical battery?

If they've got rounded corners, Exide.

If they've got angled, squared off corners, Johnson Controls.

If there are no vent caps at all, East Penn/Deka.

There are some exceptions to this rule, mainly for the European group sizes.

From what I can find on the Net, they are all saying Exide.

If that is the case I would steer clear of them and purchase an Interstate or Odyssey battery instead. All the Interstates I have used have given me 10 years.

I have a new Odyssey in my Santa Fe and it is warrantied for 10 years with Pro-ration after the 7th year and free exchange anytime before that. They use only 100% virgin lead and it's one well built looking battery. Has 200 CCA more than my other one did.
