Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer - use/results?

Yes, I was given a pre-release bottle of it and it's truly amazing stuff. It really does shed water like a duck. You use it like any other mist & wipe quick detailer but it actually lasts a couple of weeks, even through a full wash with a good car wash soap. One night at a Meguiar's Open Garage session we shot some video of a demonstration of the product while it was still code named 129D. You can see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24smNW1ihQ4

You know that little trick about taking the nozzle off the hose and allowing a steady stream of water to flow over the car for a final rinse, causing the water to sheet off the paint of a well waxed car? Well, with this stuff on there almost isn't anything left to dry!! This stuff is the real deal and it's all I use on my cars anymore.

NOTE: It is NOT a substitute for a wax or sealant, and it is not really a spray "booster" wax either.

yeah I use it, it does bead and sheet like crazy.

I basically seal my car every 4 months, wax every other, and wash every two weeks. I'm going to start using this every two weeks and continue my normal routine of waxing every other month and sealing every 4 months still. It should keep my car sheeting/beading for a very long while

I wonder how this stands up to Zaino Grand Finale Spray. I'm using that right now and I love the results, but this stuff is less than half the price and I can get it easily.

I used to be a full on Zaino head but I wised up. Seriously, if something is going to cost 2 to 3 times what most everything else costs it had better be 2 to 3 times better. Zaino is good, but quite frankly it isn't that good. As for Meguiar's products, other than this new UQD everything else I use on my car comes from their Professional Line.

I stopped using Meguiars stuff when they changed their formula and it started streaking on my vehicles. I went to Mothers and couldnt be happier. I dont use Mothers waxes or polishes. I strictly use Collinite 845 as my wax of choice.

Just out of curiosity, since Meguiar's makes a very wide selection of products, which one(s) started streaking on your vehicle?

As for the Ultimate Detailer its an excellent product! I use it all the time and could be happier, hands down Meguiars best spray detailer.

I second Mike's question.

The wax and the instant detailer. I called them and spoke with someone in Customer Service and they did tell me that they changed the products and had been getting other complaints. I changed to Mothers and never looked back

it isn't a wax, it wont protect your paint as much. It's simply a quick detailer for inbetween waxing. For waxing use Duragloss Aquawax is you want something easy and quick, atleast that offers true protection.

I love these types of products. This is just about all that I use these days directly after washing/drying my vehicles. And I use them after each washing. They're easy to use, doesn't take long and the paint always looks just waxed. Been doing this for years now and my vehicles look great even into their teens.

That still isn't very specific!! Meguiar's makes a lot of waxes and sealants: #26 carnauba, Cleaner Wax, NXT Tech Wax, M66, M20, M21, etc. They also make a number of quick detail sprays. I know for a fact that they have not recently changed the formulation on any of the waxes/sealants I mentioned above. But, whatever....at least you're waxing your car. In the past week I've detailed two vehicles that hadn't been waxed for 4 years and 10 years. What a shame.
