A number of weeks ago, I had a thread here because I put nufinish on my 91 E30 BMW, which did real well and really beads water nice.

Today I washed and waxed my truck for the first time in about a year... I had been traveling so much, and it had been garaged for much of the time, so I thought it wouldnt matter... I was wrong.

While the dust came off easily, and the water still beaded somewhat, applying more wax didnt go so well... little dots showed up on the surface when I removed the wax... theyre not raised from the surface, its almost like surface inconsistencies... Whatever they were, it took more buffing than usual, so Ill have to try to re-wash and wax again before winter if I can...

All the same, Meguiar's gold class, which I've used solely on my truck since new has done really nice again... though this pic makes my headlights look like one is yellowed (its not). I didnt use my good lens, and while the pics came out nice, they didnt come out as good as my more expensve Nikor lens... The truck looks great (IMHO), even with LOTS of mud baths and off-roading.

Front with what looks like (but is not) discolored headligts:

Since I was shooting, I figured Id take pics of the saab (unwashed)... Ive used 3M wax on the car since new... though I tried Nufinish on it when I washed it last, since the BMW did so well with it...

Nufinish doesnt make water bead on the saab as nicely as it does on the BMW... I dont know why... but Ill be going back to 3M or Meguiars gold class next time...

Very nice! I like that truck. Just the right size, not a monster truck.

I've been using Meguiar's Gold Class shampoo for years, but I've never used their wax on the car - I used their cleaner wax on the rims though. For the car's paint, I normally use Zaino, preceeded by ClayMagic.

Next time around, wash the car then clay bar it. This will take all the impurities out of the paint and leave it uber smooth. Then wash again, and put on a coat of 3M glaze to bring back the luster and a coat or two of a carnuba wax followed afterwards. If the paint is really bad try some cleaner wax after the clay bar.

Nice rides. Paint looks pristine like it just came off the showroom, good job with the waxing. I find that darker colors cars (dark blue, black, etc..) look nice when waxed. Lighter color cars (silver, white, etc..) its not as significant. Meguiars Gold Class Wax was one of the first wax I ever bought works well, now I'm using Zymol. I always wanted to try 3M wax but hard to find in stores. How often you wax it?

Good you put a sunshade on the Saab. I park my car on the street all the time and put a shade for front and rear. For rear I use the foldable circle kind.

Very nice little truck...is it a real 4x4? I ask because normally they have some sort of sticker on the bed....Z-something if I remember correctly. Never been a HUGE fan of the S-10, but I saw one of these in red, 4x4 with the big tires, fender flares, lifted a bit, and I fell in love. Nice size, very tough looking.

yes, real 4wd, and a locker in the rear.

came this way from the factory.. it has axles from a fullsize, and a beefed up frame. Does real nice in the offroading... Im happy it still looks so good paint-wise, given how much mud and junk its gone through...

No stickers on mine, just the real deal.

Johnny: the BMW pics are in the thread linked to in my original post... nufinish did real nice on it!
