Measuring oil taken out with extractor

I'm hoping this is a simple question with a why didn't I think of that answer...

I have a motive power extractor that I've used a few times to do oil changes in my vehicles. It seems to do a great job on the 3.7L V6 in our Acura MDX. I'm not sure, however, how much oil I'm leaving in my jag with AJ6 straight six motor.

Is there a simple way to tell/measure how much you've gotten out?

I usually just dump it into 5qt jugs. to measure.

You might pull the drain plug when you are done to see about how much you are leaving behind that you would get out with a normal drain.
Some engines can be near a quart.. some leave nothing compared to reg drain.

I checked my extractor by draining the sump with it and then pulling the drain plug . A couple of ounces came out and I haven't bothered since .

My MityVac has marking in liters.

Can you calibrate your with a gallon of water?

I usually just dump into 5qt jugs because that is what I take to the recyclers anyway.
