McCulloch Mac Power-Pro 800 E Generator

I just got this generator from my boyfriends father. He used it for his pop-up camper to power the tv and lights. Said it ran like a champ the last trip he made with it before retiring it. He got a bigger camper and needed a bigger one. That was four years ago. Lets just say that after sitting four years with varnish, opps fuel in the carb has made a disaster for me. I pulled the carb and cleaned it carb clean but to no provail. Still wont run. Got spark starts with either just no fuel. Had a new plug in it to. I am afraid that I will need a rebuild kit. I will first boil it to see of that works. I need to know were I can get more info on the engine and generator. And were to get parts. Also what kind of oil should I use? Its a flathead engine. He used nothing but 10w30, I was thinking some of that stash of M1 T&S 5W-40 I have in reserve. He used M1 also. Thanks in adcanced.

What engine?

I am sure you will need a carb. kit. Just get the kit (needle, seat, gaskets, etc.) and be done with it.

I have no clue to what engine it has or who manufactured the engine for that matter. I am currently looking for a carb kit. I checked one local shop and they were no help. I have one that I used all the time before I noved. They not only could get any part you ever wanted but almost always had it in stock. I am planning to go there next. Its only 35 miles away from were I live now. I pulled the carb and disantled it a second time and didnt help at all. So a kit is needed for sure. I changed the oil in it and used M1 T&S 5W-40 only takes 14 ounces. I put 12 in and topped it off with 2 ounces of valvoline synpower oil treatment. I also got a can of seafoam and plan to run a double dose through it in the gas the first couple of tanks and am gonna do a cylinder soak overnite after I get it running good. I hope this will all work. Also I was wondering how long should the oci's be? I dont have a manual for it. And cant find any info on it.

When you go in for parts always have a model #. This is an engine part, so get a number off the engine and take in.

So far all you are saying is that you have a generator and need a carb kit. Thats like going into an auto parts store and asking for an airfilter for a truck.

McCulloch is basically out of business, the old stuff (owners manual) I doubt you will find. Besides that, they never made a generator, so find out who made the engine and that will help you get parts for it.
