MC FL-910S with 5,500 miles CUT OPEN

Off a friends 2021 base model Ford Ranger he bought with 28k on it. Had 5,500 miles with unknown oil dealer used. Put in M15w20 and a MC FL-910S from my stash.

Looks good to me at 5500 mi. Oil looks a little sooty, but perhaps lighting.

This same engine is in mustang and oil from them always looks pitch black. I’m unsure if they have turbos or….

They brought back the ol danger ranger. at first I seen "M15w20" in your description & thought it was a new grade of oil.
I came to me senses & realized it's M1 branded oil.

The filter itself looks great. Lots of pleats, metal crimp, & end caps. Nice work

Probably has 2-3% fuel and plenty of GDI soot in it.

We should all note that the 2.3 is a eco boost engine and Mustang and Explorer use this engine.

Other than the 2.0 GDI in the Transit Connects, does Ford even make any sub-5.0L engines that aren’t EcoBoosts? I can’t think of any…

The F150 has a 3.3L N/A V6

We should all note that the 2.3 is a eco boost engine and Mustang and Explorer use this engine.

The EcoBoosts are known fuel diluters and as such are spec’d for 5w30. Which they will beat down to a 20 grade anyway unless you use a Euro.
