Please post some thoughts..thank you!

I'd like to see this run out to 6000 miles.

oh yeah, viscotiy and other measurements would be nice.

Either way, looks stellar. Looks better than Pennzoil Platinum.

Here is some more info:

sus viscosity @210 f: 50.6
cst viscosity @100 c: 7.45
flashpoint in f: 380
antifreeze %: .18 ???
water 0
insolubles .4
tbn 2.4

I wouldn't change a thing - other than rounding the oil change interval to 5K. That .18 antifreeze reading is nothing to worry about. When you get 1-9 numbers in front of that decimal point -- that's when some concern enters into the equation.

What oil did you use before this?

If it wasn't an oil that contained sodium, you have a coolant leak.

The original post shows a small coolant contamination. Obviously it is not causing wear, but the smart thing would be to sample the oil periodically to make sure it doesn't get worse.

Maybe it will go away.

If it were mine I'd probably put some stop-leak in the coolant.

Before this I was going to the dealer for the oc's. They say they use Mobil..but who really knows for sure.

Thank you..that makes me feel better about the coolant %. Just another reason to keep on top of the oci's.

And how did the engine sound compared to another brand?

The engine sounds the same but seems a little bit smoother than before esp on cold start up's.

Will do..as far as taking periodic samples. I will do another uoa in 6 weeks. If things get worse then I will prob put some stop-leak in the coolant.

Mystery solved.

Mobil bulk contains a few hundred ppm of Sodium as an additive.

Thanks everyone for the great info. Glad I switched out from that Mobil bulk. Something about bulk oil made me a little uneasy.

What kind of damage can sodium cause? Maybe damage a seal thats causing a lil bit of that coolant to mix in? Im thinking of possibly switching to Valv max life syn blend to help condition the seals a little better and poss stop the coolant useage.

Sodium is an oil additive so it's not going to cause harm. It doesn't appear you have coolant leak knowing that Mobil uses sodium in their additive pack.
