I came across that yesterday.

I was going to say that sounds like something the Roadkill guys would name a vehicle.

As it turns out, they did--a 1974 Mazda pickup with a 455 Olds in the bed. Whether they first came up with the name, I don't know.

Yea, that's pretty good, too!

I remember people calling the Chrysler 300 (I think) in the 90s a Baby Bentley

I find it all pretty clever and amusing

I have customers say that all the time. If it is the kind of customer I know I can mess with a bit I say "nope, you have to go to the BMW dealer across the street for those."

We have a 04 B2300 for a delivery truck and one of our former counter guys called it the Mazdarati.

Don't know where he got it. Back in the 70's or 80's, A guy had a chrome, metal OEM looking thing he stuck on his imported car.

I'll try it again, that is some serious censorship here.........

I could see if the vehicle was co-built like the BRZ/86, or the Supra/Z4, or the Vibe/Matrix, Suzuki Swift/Chevy Firefly etc....but blending of two car manufacturers names Mazda and Mazarati makes no sense other than a poor attempt to add some status to the Mazda...akin to sticking a GTR badge on a Neon.

Maserati...

It's a joke, wordplay; its tongue-in-cheek, like the Prancing Moose badge on a Volvo.
