Mazda3 2.0L anything I should know about?

How about going with the manual's spec instead of relying on a website? lol. The dipstick is completely useless, though. I've always poured 4.5.

Are you referring to the Timing Advance Mod? Yours might have it done already. It's easy to check from the passenger side wheel well, behind the splash sheild.

The throttle body ground mod is good for all models. Those DWB throttle servos demand high amps!

Anyhow, congrats on buying the only economy/small car I would ever consider. And like everyone has said, those things last forever.

I'm looking into the timing mod (most people say it doesn't change much...)

As for oil I put in 4 qts originally but added half a quart soon after. Good little engine and car.

Really happy with the car!

My friend has a 2010 Mazda 3i with the 2.0L engine as well. I am not sure if they made any changes to the 2.0L engine for the 2010 redesign, but my friend's 2010 still calls for 5w-20 and 4.5 quarts.

I have been getting it serviced every 3,000 miles with Coast 5w-20 and a Mazda filter from the dealer. Great little car; good handling and top-notch interior for the money. No problems at all after 8,000 miles.
