They seem to do the trick. The filter mounts with the opening up on the bottom of the engine, which is the reason for no ADBV.

Things that you will not see on these filters;

Torn media.

Wide pleat spacing.

Shoddy manufacturing assembly.

But you can use other brands and experience one or more of those if you wish.
My comment was with what it caught , I wasn't picking at the filter .

No end caps, no adbv. Decent filter but the efficiency probably isnt something to write home about.

I’ve had stellar UOA results since the car was new. Not 110k miles on the Mazda 3. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What more could you ask for?

These are made in Thailand, not the previously made in Japan by ToyoRoki filters.

I haven’t seen the Roki filters stateside for many many years now.

Roki has a plant in Thailand. I have never been able to confirm it but it might be a joint effort between Roki and Denso.

I get these Thai filters from the dealer. Now with all the supply issues going on I will find out if I can still get these or will have to go with the Mexican filters.

A good bit of carbon sludge and an unidentified speck.

I don’t like the build up of particles on the bottom, by the bypass valve. 😳😬
Believe this is the original filter from the factory? 9,000 miles on the filter?

Perhaps this was the second filter and the car is undergoing its 3rd OCI?

Either way, the filter captured metal bits!

😳 🤔 hmmmm. I don’t know what you’re smoking (it’s too early to be drinking, but you never know) but I want some too, cause that didn’t make any sense at all.

This filter ran 9k miles in my 8 year old Mazda 3 with 110k miles on it. Just an FYI

Oh. I read your first post, not the whole thread. It didn't say how many miles were on the car. Thot it was new, given how many metal flakes (sparkles) appear to be in the oil. Thot it was possibly the 1st OCI, with the filter catching mfgring leftovers .

Given what I see, I won't be buying THAT Mazda!;)
