My first post, I've searched and couldn't find anyone talking about this.
I have a Mazda CX7 with the 2.3l 4cyl turbo engine. It has direct injection, so I'm slightly worried about fuel dilution.
I haven't run any UOA, but I plan to after this winter.
I drive roughly 7500 miles a year and do an oil change in the spring/summer and fall/winter. So roughly 6 months and 3250 miles per oil change. My driving is 95/100% city per oil change. My drive to work is
I'm concerned that due to the turbo/direct injection and very short trips my oil is probably getting destroyed. I run full synthetic even though the mileage between changes is so short. Currently I have PP in the car.
I recently snagged some German Castrol from the Autozone special but I also looked at the Mobil 1 5w40 turbo diesel oil and that looks like it could be pretty good stuff, especially for the high heat summers we have.
Any tips/suggestions?
