Apparently this AP reporter who went to Africa and used to be an intern is now saying that she had no relationship with John Kerry. But at least one of her parents, if not both, were saying that Kerry was calling her repeatedly.

Maybe we should dump the rumors on both sides and have a clean campaign. The Democrats lay off of Bush and his National Guard record, and the Republicans lay off of Kerry and his alleged affairs and anti-war record.

I will be VERY disappointed if it turns out that Kerry and this woman are lying. I would much prefer honesty. I don't want any more Clinton type nonsense in the White House.

But relationships and stuff like that don't really interest me that much. My number one concern is the war against terrorism-and we ARE in a war. Anybody who does not believe that should check out video on the Twin Towers. Everything else MUST come after the war against terrorism-we could have a booming economy with Kerry and it would make no difference if an airliner with a nuclear weapon exploded over New York City.

My number two concern is the economy. Now the economy seems to be getting better but the employment situation is not improving. I am not an economist so somebody explain this enigma to me.

I don't know if the Democrats in the White House would improve or hurt the economy. At least they seem more caring about ordinary human beings.

But I have VERY grave concerns about how the war on terrorism would work out with Kerry in the White House.

I really don't care about Bush's National Guard record. I really don't care if Kerry has had relationships outsid of his marriage unless he is dishonest and we get Clinton type fun and games in the White House. And of course pressure should never exist in a relationship.

I am an old guy and some stuff that Kerry did after he returned from Vietnam does upset me. But you have to realize that I come from a different age then the young people of today. I suppose today it is perfectly acceptable to display the american flag upside down. You have to have patience with us ol' guys.

The two most important issues:

1) The war on terrorism. And it is a war.

2) The economy.

Clinton and Kerry are who they are. There is no way their position isn't a factor in any illicit sexual relationships. I am completely disgusted by such men. They are vermin. I am also disgusted by the possibility that their accusers are lying. Say what ever you want to, and those that want to, will believe you.

Of course, I wasn't thinking of voting for him anyways. It would be difficult for me if Bush was involved in something like that.

Well, since we think along the same lines, I must be an old guy to.

I am from that generation and have my opinions about that war. What we need is a new senate and house. With those old screw balls in there, it won't make much difference who is president. Nothing but conflict and stone walling.

Johnny, in order for anything to get done there must be a solid majority of Democrats in the House of Representatives and Senate if a Democrat is elected President. If a Republican is elected, then there needs to be a solid majority of Republicans in the House of Represntatives and the Senate.

Personally, I am getting very tired of BOTH of these political parties. I think we need some fresh blood and some new ideas.

But I will not vote for anybody who I think is weak on national defense. National defense has to be Job 1 today.

And I would like to see some coherent economic ideas. We are losing jobs overseas and we have people in this country saying that is the way it is with a global economy. We won't rank very high in the global economy if this keeps up very long. There will be nobody in this country able to afford buyingnew cars and trucks, houses, etc. This country has achieved a lot with a strong middle class. How strong is our country going to be with just two social classes-a small ruling and rich class and a hugh class of workers who can barely survive, can't afford new cars, and must live in rental homes or apartments? I am not an economist, but I think that somebody somewhere needs to get a clue. These people all failed Economics 101 I think.

Did this reporter used to be an intern? My readings say that if she even was, it wasn't for Kerry. Things I read say this rumor is just that, and is falling apart.

P.S. I believe the only war we are in is one against stupidity, particularly that which ignores warnings about terrorists flying planes into buildings.

Just saw your latest post. Have to agree with you completely on the economic issues. It appears to me that the harvesting and breaking of the middle class is highly deliberate. We are being manipulated into economic slavery, while being sedated with television, silly scandals presented as meaningful news, and platitudes about how lucky we are to live in the greatest country on earth.

Sprintman - I don't take offense at all, in my opinion the whole concept of "greatest country on earth" is basically propaganda, equivocal in merit to "greatest religion in existance". Who judges, what are the standards, are they relative or absolute?

Even though many people trip over themselves to come to the U.S., most people seem quite content with being where they are, and as recent events have shown, even residents of countries in chaos will fight fiercely for their own way of life, just because it is theirs.

Any American who hates this country really needs to find another country in my opinion. This is supposed to be a free country and people can say what they want but some people go beyond saying what they want and are trying to take away the rights of other Americans. I am getting tired of it myself. You can name example after example of the nonsense.

I have also gotten very tired of millions of people being allowed in this country illegally, and no politican Republican or Democrat willing to anything about it (they all want the Hispanic vote). All of my family either came to this country legally ot else were living here long before other people started arriving (I am about 1/8 to 1/16 Cherokee). I see no reason why we should permit people to come here illegally.

The number one threat to this country is terrorism. If I hear any presidential candidate say otherwise he will not get my vote. A booming economy does us no good if a nuclear weapon is detonated by terrorists. The economy is issue number 2-very important but not number 1.

I am getting sick and tired of Kerry saying that he is a war hero and therefore he would be better able to defend this country then Bush. Most of the people I know who were in warfare will not talk about their experiences. My father would not talk about a lot of stuff about World War II. Neither would my Uncle. My cousin was a roughneck and he was in the Marines but I never heard him talk about combat either. My oldest sister was in the Army but did not see combat.

A guy could have the Medal of Honor and not be qualified to be President of the United States. I want to hear Kerry say what he is going to do to defend this country against terrorism. So far all I have heard from him is how he is going to try to work with other countries and the UN. In order to deal effectively with Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda we may have to do a little bit more then go to the UN. I get sick to my stomach every time Kerry says,'Bring it on!' I have respect for anybody who has served their country in combat but the medals that Kerry received in Vietnam are not going to defeat al Qaeda. What is he going to DO to deal with the enemy? Or maybe he does not agree that there is a enemy? Maybe those people in the World Trade Center were killed by an earthquake? Oh, thats right. It was Bush who was behind it (some have claimed this). Or maybe the Jews (some have claimed this). Yeah, right.

Maybe he thinks he can talk to Osama bin Laden. Use his charm on the man. Reach an understanding. After all, ol' Osama was just a poor little rich guy oppressed by the evil Americans.

Kerry has made a lot of speeches and I don't know what all he has said. Mostly I have heard him put down his rivals for Democratic candidate for president, put down Bush, and talk about the economy. Maybe he has made a speech about terrorism and what he will do about it, but I have not heard that speech. What is he going to do about the number 1 threat to this country? I want to hear about that.

Mystic: It's funny that you should attempt to compare Kerry/affair and Bush/AWOL, since this illustrates well how this stuff materializes.

Liberals have been pointing out OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS such as the Texas Guard record which states "Lt. Bush has not been observed at this unit during the period of this report 5/1/72 - 4/30/73" (that's a full year, but who's counting), or the Air Reserve Command Center document (link below) which DENIED Bush's request to go to Alabama: "Therefore he is ineligeble for assignment to an (Alabama) Air Reserve Squadron." (Bush had already left two weeks earlier, without permission, because he wanted to work on a political campaign.)

-A photo of Kerry sitting near Jane Fonda at an anti-war rally. The photo was verified as fake.
-A photo of Kerry and Fonda together at a podium at another rally. This photo was also proven to be fabricated.
-Spreading rumors that Kerry had an affair, with the woman now "hiding out in Africa." The woman and her family have vigorously denied any such relationship. She spoke to the media while visiting her fiancee's parents at their home in...you guessed it, Nairobi, Africa, where she has visited before.

See a pattern here? I'll help you out: The conservative sleaze machine, led by Matt Sludge, Karl "Mudslinger" Rove, Rush "Druggie" Limbaugh, and their ilk will be very, very busy brewing up a boatload of sewage through November...

TC, there are to main issues I am interested in. Issue number 1: The war on terrorism. Issue number 2: The economy. I would like to hear what Kerry is going to do in the war on terrorism. I don't need to hear a speech in which he says that he was in Vietnam and Bush was not and he was a war hero. I want to know what he is going to do about terrorism.
