Marriage anniversary ... 47 years ago...

Just don't run out of gas.
And to you younger couples out there, don't let your batteries go to zero.

Come to think of it, I just made a major trip to the parts dept.
Sue and I have reached the age where we now realize that one of us will outlive the other. It's one of those grim realities that come with age.

You could take up tandem hangliding as a hobby.
Well, we used to do this - descending Marshall Grade during the Marin Century on our tandem at 50+ mph. Photo circa '93 or '94.

I’ve had that discussion with Mrs. Bullwinkle already, and we’ve only been married 35 years. Mainly to let her know where the life insurance policies are, 401K, etc. Men don’t live very long in my family, and just turning 60 will do that to you.

Wow! There's no way I could put up with the back seat peddling. "You're in the wrong gear!!"
We were racy on that thing. Let me tell you, a tandem is a monster. On descents they're like a runaway train. Sue and I did things on that thing that makes me cringe in hindsight. One time, during a particularly fast and aggressive descent on this curvy mountain road in Sonoma County, when we got to the bottom and stopped at this little store, she dismounted the bike, stormed over to me, grabbed my jersey around my neck and said, "Don't you ever do that again!"

Edit: On a lighter note, and I'll keep it a bit vague; but we were riding a century in San Joaquin County in the Delta Region. At one point we rode across this big metal bridge that had a "grated metal" type of road surface. Crossing the bridge caused the bike to buzz and vibrate underneath us. After crossing the bridge Sue asked me to turn around so we could cross it a second time. :ROFLMAO: We had some great times on that thing.

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Started our 47th. this past March.
Excellent! I remember you telling me your daughter got the Daisy award at the hospital she worked at. Sue was a career RN in both NICU and L&D, and when I told her about your daughter receiving that award she said, "Wow! They give that to the best nurse in the hospital".

That was you, right?

Wife and I , with friends just spent our 47th wedding anniversary day at an all day music and food festival.
We got to see some old bands , Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult and the Steve Miller Band.
HOT as heck out there for a while in the laser beam like sun with very limited shade areas. Yet a cold front gets to us tomorrow.
Great day though. :) The Steve Miller Band finished it up and were actually the best of the music.

That is the song they closed with. I liked seeing Steve Miller looking still young-ish ;) and full of energy. He played a lot of his older blues tunes and stuff from Elmore James before he got to all of his well known "radio hits."

Blue Oyster Cult
(Band on Tour Forever) Buck and Eric Bloom starting to slow down and show their age. Kinda sad to see. But still played a good set.

Foghat - drummer Roger Earl the only original member left so.... was more like a cover band.
