Extended family all settled after dinner, TV's and iPads going, garage time!
Mann W719/12 from our '74 TR6, M1 15w-50, one year and maybe 750 miles. Last of my German made M&H's, we will see what the next batch brings.
Thick can, unusual 4 hole folded over baseplate, dense media, no apparent gaps, ADBV thin and very pliable and button type bypass valve sealing well. Interesting that there is a noticeable amount of carbon in the pleats and a considerable amount as fine sediment in the bottom of the filter, and also interesting how the carbon settled in certain areas where the media was ridged slightly.
This started last year after I had a float valve stick on an all day road trip and wound up with a lot of fuel in the oil. This engine has a typical amount of varnish for its vintage and I wonder if some of it was softened. I've run M1 for the ~24 yeas I've had her and receipts indicate Castrol GTX by the prior owner.
