MANN HU816X - 5,000 miles

MANN HU816X filter from my 2009 BMW 328i. Was in use for a little over 5,000 miles with Valvoline Euro 5w40. Same filter and oil went back in.

I've been very impressed with the build quality and durability of Mann filters. I've put 10k miles on Mann filters before, and they look just as good.

I see some waves; crushing perhaps?
My HU819X filters come out as straight and true as they go in ('07 Volvo 2.4l 5cyl.).
Mine's shorter and chunkier but likely identical construction.
I love the way the glue itself contributes structure.

From what I have seen, I think a lot of cartridge style oil filter housings use some compression, as a form of sealing. I'm assuming this, because I've seen a lot of cartridge style oil filters with waves. It's quite common.
