Yes, their products are more competitive than ever.

Now to hide from the Ford bashers.

There is a reason the 4.0 has been around for 4 decades. Its as tough as it gets. I doubt the new engine will last in the long run.

I like FORD. It's the only brand I have bought in a long time. But the newer stuff just does not seem to last as long as the old.

I'm really interested to see what the new Explorer will be like. It has been a long time since I was interested in a domestic vehicle. I almost bought a Fusion, and the refresh is nice, but the new Explorer will be IMO the most important vehicle release they've had in awhile.

I'm just happy to see America on the uptick.

I was trying to make the Ford dealer Friday night but the accelerator pedal in my Camry got stuck and I wound up driving right past the place. As soon as the retrofit goes in and my class action is settled, I'm going to buy something that you have to floor yourself. Like this.

Allan Mulally (sp?) is the man who turned Ford around. Although roundly criticized early in his tenure, he is returning Ford to profitability and he did the same for Boeing before that.

He is an icon and will soon be a household name if not already.

Yup. At least he is doing a better job of finding competent leaders for FOMOCO than he is for the Lions.

meh....The UAW and it's power are a figment of their own weak minds. When you consider that every new hire at any Ford plant is at $14.00/Hr. It's hard to make an argument that they are even doing a good job of representing their present members. At this point all Ford has to do is wait it out....over the next ten years as old hires retire and take buy outs, their cost/car picture gets better and better....The UAW is a failure, they realize that soon enough.

If they do decide to strike, they should be very careful. A strike in a down economy doesnt play well with the masses at all. They may find themselves in line with a bunch of Air Traffic Controllers if you catch my drift....HMMMM, that sounds nice.

I can feel the pain, Lions fans have had a tough run. It really sucks when the life-blood of your city has been sucked dry and then your football team is the laughing stock of the league.

But we are Americans

and we will survive. Detroit and its automotive manufacturing base will come back!

The big 3 will never again be what they were but Detroit can still produce competitive vehicles in the 21st century.
