Malco Eagle Grip Owners Thread

They will keep making locking pliers until the steel supplies are depleted. The end of this year. My question is why did they give up so soon? Less than 2 years???

The issue is the distribution, Harry Epstein Co. made a video about this. Channel-Lock should buy them out and continue USA made pliers, Malco did all the hard work, now someone with a distributing network needs to step up. Channel Locks failure of their Knippex knockoff, it's not selling, and there is their new USA made screwdriver line.

They’re here!

Got these today. Had been sold out on and off on Amazon, and I wasn’t going to pay >$40, which is where I typically see them fluctuating around. Got these for $38, which is a bit much, but figured I’d show support for what they’re doing.

The finish is like a mirror buffed bead blasted finish. Very smooth, very nice. The jaws are sharp and grippy. Locking is smooth and direct.

Here’s comparison to another first world pair by another maker, the highly-regarded Knipex. Think I paid around $22 for these.

Eagle grips definitely have more aggressive serrations. I’m sure they will bite anything really well - maybe too well?!?
l have these two pair coming from Amazon. Everyone says they're the cats, so l thought l'd try them.

I stumbled across this YouTube video and then recalled this thread:

According to the video apparently SnapOn obtained the patent assignment just before the auction of equipment.

I still have four sitting in one of my tool cabinets. Unopened. New in the box.

Future birthday/Christmas presents for my friends who would appreciate quality tool.
