Well, as a Mac user for 21 years, I have now partially entered the dark side.
I spent about 90 minutes today installing Apple's "Boot Camp" and Windoze XP Pro.
I have to say that this is pretty crazy!
Apple (and remember, this is BETA folks) did an amazing job with this setup.
I had to install roughly 50 Secuity updates (it requires SP2 to start) and after that, it booted up and I have to say, running FireFox on the XP side is faster than on the Mac side

Has anyone done this yet? I ended up with the MacBook Pro with 2.1.6 Ghz processor and 7300rpm HDD and 2GB RAM.

So far, very impressed.

I was wondering how the virtual emulation software for MacTel computers works(don't remember the name) that came out just prior to BootCamp. ?? I heard the WinXP VM speed is about 90% or better. Looks very promising and a much better alternative than Virutal PC on the Mac which simply takes a distant second place to an abacus.

It's called "Parallels Workstation"
Not as good as it's in emulation compared to Boot Camp which makes the Mac a real PC.
Amazing speed.
VPC in comparison is a dog, but you could save disk images and redo a bad PC in minutes.
This is cool. My son just installed a PC game and at the highest settings, it rocks.

Hey NimRod, I have OS X 10.4.6 and XP.
You NEED 10.4.6 to even do this.
If you're going to post, at least use SOME brain cells.
