Precondition the battery for full power. Do not enable track mode like the magazines do! That conserves power.
What gets me is the online magazines, etc., race Model 3s against other cars and enable track mode; that's wrong for acceleration runs. That's something that needs to be publicized more. Track mode isn't the trick.
The video car, like my car, is a M3P. But the point is, preheat the battery for top acceleration runs. This is true of the 3 and Y, of course.talking about a m3p or a myp?
Like mentioned, it works on both. Actually it works all Teslas. Just route to a close Supercharger and it will start warming the battery.talking about a m3p or a myp?
yeah, YI will never do a 3 second 0-60 run, nor will I race on a quarter mile track. Similarly I never used the potential of my Corvettes, '66 GTO, etc. The Bi-Turbo MBZ across the street sounds are pure Heaven, the Taycan Turbo at the end of the street is simply gorgeous.I don't really need to go any faster than I already can. Sure, going 0-60 in under 3 is pretty neat, but, between 4-5 is fine with me. I don't even get that many opportunities to use what I have, with the suburbs growing up around us. (we were out in the country when we bought our current house, but oh well)
If I had a classic Corvette with a 4 speed, I'd probably at least wind it out in 1st and 2nd if I was first in line at a stoplight. I definitely do some short blasts with the Lightning, there is a 2 lanes to 1 merge in a 55 zone pretty close to my house and if I'm in the front of the line, I make sure there's no doubt who's out front.yeah, YI will never do a 3 second 0-60 run, nor will I race on a quarter mile track. Boys and their toys I guess! I will tell you this, our Tesla is a flat out blast. I would buy another tomorrow if I lost this one. I am very satisfied with the car.
2nd gear, with a flat torque curve 427, is where the fun is. Pull pull pull! Now the M3P is on a completely different level, but that's where 60 years of technology gets you.If I had a classic Corvette with a 4 speed, I'd probably at least wind it out in 1st and 2nd if I was first in line at a stoplight. 65 GTO? Pics please!the speedo on my 65 gto goes to 60 faster than that but the car itself is only going about 25![]()
Sure! didn't mean to derail and I think i've posted this before but here ya go. Crazy to think how much faster new cars are than the old ones we used to think were so fast!65 GTO? Pics please!
I'm also the guy who will not go 1mph above the speed limit in the neighborhood. As the signs that people like to put out say, I drive like my kid lives there, when I'm on residential streets.2nd gear, with a flat torque curve 427, is where the fun is. Pull pull pull! Don't get too crazy with that Lightning...
Yea if you grew up in the Malaise Era like many of us did, those 60s muscle cars were really fast! I learned to drive on cars that could only maintain 45-50 going up a mountain pass with your foor flat to the floor. lol....Sure! didn't mean to derail and I think i've posted this before but here ya go. The early Goats were simply some of the most beautiful cars ever. And the '89 was tough to beat on the street!Sure! didn't mean to derail and I think i've posted this before but here ya go. Crazy to think how much faster new cars are than the old ones we used to think were so fast!
Spot on. And 5 mph over is one thing, but when cars fly down the street at whatever speeds, I yell.I'm also the guy who will not go 1mph above the speed limit in the neighborhood. As the signs that people like to put out say, I drive like my kid lives there, when I'm on residential streets.
When I was in college many years ago and delivering pizza, they were hard core about following the speed limits, and I was always like, this is so stupid. I can go 5 or 10 over and nobody will notice. Then one day when I just happened to be driving the 25mph posted speed limit, a 3 year old sprinted out in the middle of the street directly in front of me without warning. I was able to stop in time but it was really close, I mean no more than inches. If I had have been speeding I probably would have hit that little kid. I never forgot that.
I'm amazed how I get passed set at 4-5 over. I don't feel comfortable in most situations driving faster than that. I don't want a ticket and it's really not necessary. I can handle driving much faster and I have on the track, but that's not what I would think the average driver would expect.Spot on. And 5 mph over is one thing, but when cars fly down the street at whatever speeds, I yell.
And there is no one group; it might be a beater, a soccer Mom or someone going to work with a bunch of stuff in his/her head. Once I yelled at a black and white...
And I've made more than my share of mistakes, if I am to be honest.
