I agree with Patman, this oil is in good shape. Look at the insolubles - 0.3 after 10,000 miles! Look at some of the other UOAs on here. BTW, you'll be hardpressed to find a slew of 10k mile & greater UOAs. If you really want to know what is going on & get in-depth professional advice - use Terry Dyson. With a car like the NSX, I sure would.

So Kristin does any senior staff person check these reports or are the new people allowed to just write whatever they want? The more knowledgable members here continually pick these reports apart and find discrepancies.

Thanks for the insight! The only thing I'm still less than thrilled about is how low the viscosity got. I'll sample again at 5k and see how it is.

I WISH it was an NSX, but it is only an RSX-S.

These numbers look almost identical to the numbers that my ~10k m1 5w20 uoa's have shown on my K20. I also have had a few reports that showed high lead and iron readings, these numbers did lower after time indicating to me that it was caused by a particle streak.

"I also let the car warm up until it comes off of the high idle"

That is a bad idea, especially in a mild climate like Florida. Almost every manufacturer recommends gentle driving as the best way to warm up an engine and not long idle periods.

Your iron numbers isn't that bad considering the long OCI and the fact that you are using Mobil-1. I would try a different oil just to see if the iron number comes down or not. The lead also isn't terribly high considering the 10,000 mile interval. If it were my car I would change my warm up habits and try a run with another synthetic like Pennzoil Platinum or Castrol Syntec. You might be pleasantly surprised.

That is a bad idea....

Might be helpful to have him say how long that time is.
At Florida temps the "fast" idle drops off in about 30 seconds to maybe a minute. (Just guessing which "drop off idle point" he's talking about....I think he means that first drop after start.)
BUT, If he's letting it idle "minutes" in mild Florida temps, well then I'm with you...it's too long.

On crack! That made me laugh out loud this morning. Here's the thing. We have a couple new (well, been here a year or so) who are still learning what to call "high" and what not to call "high." We just had a meeting about this and I said instead of "high", say "above-average" or "higher than average." We are working on it, working on it...but in the meantime, if you disagree with what we say, it does not hurt our feelings at all!

I am happy see someone in the family business knows where to go school!

Joking of course.

donk - did you use any fuel adds? like techron or regane? it has been my experience that these can cause high lead and/or copper. other than *slightly* elevated lead I'd say this is a great report. don't trade the car.
