I recommend you try some Harvarti. Quite sure you've already but if you haven't give it a go. Splendid with strawberries, pear, and even apple.

I don't know. I've ridden the Métro but don't remember any cheese raids. I brought a Limburger sandwich to high school once and it was confiscated and disposed of during Religious Ed.

I thought SPAM stood for Salty Pork Arse**** Meat. I don't eat SPAM. I usually buy Niman Ranch smoked ham. It does not contain sodium nitrite and is not as salty as most other ham. It's quite good and not insanely expensive either at $12 a pound.

bugger...decent ham is a rare thing in these parts (and it's not because it's not cooked)

Local environment isn't that flash for home made hams, and the better half won't let me smoke meat in the outdoors outhouse.

a smoked trout (even farmed, where they taste like mud) is a delight.
