Seems to be a bit different than prior Lucas Oil Additives. They're making some performance claims that are presumably data-backed.
This smells like an off-the-shelf booster from a major additive supplier (e.g. Afton, Infineum, etc.) that is actually designed to benefit hybrid applications.

To me its all marketing fluff, aimed at the hybrid market vs the diesel trucks.

What oil does not trap fuel and moisture? Where else will fuel and moisture in oil go, other than vaporizing out with heat?

Engines don't have dry starts, except maybe when first rebuilt, even then its pre-lubed on assembly.

45% viscosity retention improvement over what oil?

Reduce turbocharger deposits by 29% vs what?

Does not change the viscosity grade of your oil. Regardless of what viscosity you use? 0-8 , 0-20, 5-40 Must be a small bottle of additive to not affect viscosity at all.

Fluff.

Fuel and moisture do not always vaporize. A lot of hybrid engines do not see high oil temperatures; my 2.4L hybrid max powertrain hovers around 180-190f, even on long highway drives. Some additive suppliers have introduced boosters to combat the condensation and fuel dilution issues on hybrids, Afton is one. This is probably why hybrid specific engine oils are being introduced:

17.3 TBN points to a strong dose of detergent, wonder if it's calcium or magnesium? I'd hope magnesium, given potential LSPI concerns. 16cSt and a VI of 174 points to a 50 grade carrier (for the detergent) with a slug of VII getting us there.

At 7% of the total (0.375 quarts of 5.375 quarts), it is unlikely to take the product out of grade unless it's super close to the limit already, like say a 4.8cSt 0W-8, this would bump to 5.2cSt, making it a 0W-12.

I might use this with cheap oil(Kirkland/SuperTech or O’Reilly/STP). But Lucas seems like they’re trying to be a bit more legitimate…

I can’t figure out why I don’t believe one thing Lucas advertises…..

Personally wouldn’t touch the stuff with a 10 foot pole.
You and me both. Been saying that for years, the way they snowed people with the "stabilizer", I'd never trust the brand. As the saying goes, I'd trust a fart after eating at Taco Bell more than Lucas.
