I have a couple of quarts of Lucas high performance 80w90 sitting on my shelf. I was bored and reading the back label and they are really proud of this stuff. Is there anything in it that makes it better than say a Valvoline 80w90 or even a Supertech 80w90?

I have Napa 80w90 in them now and was wondering if their oil would be better suited for my application. I drain and fill the diffs in my ATVs and SxS pretty often due to mud and water when we ride. The Napa stuff was like $7 a quart so I’ll probably just stick with that

Valvoline 75w90 full synthetic with the win for the combination of the price and easy to use bag. Plus, you can get it at Walmart.

For some reason I just don't trust Lucas. Maybe its the sham of their oil stabilizer. Not sure, but I don't care for them.
I’m not really a fan either. I don’t like them or dislike them either way. The bottle just seem to claim that it was made from stuff that no other gear oil has.

Also a reason to be skeptical of them haha.

Personally I've had great luck with Valvoline, Redline, and plain old SuperTech. I think with gear oil the important thing is keeping the fluid level full and free of water.

If you need to meet MIL-PRF-2105E, Mack GO-G, or PG-2 Limited Slip, then I would use Lucas 80w-90 specifically. Otherwise its just another GL-5 gear oil

Wasn't one of the first tests that Bob (owner of bitog) did was a test of Lucas diff fluid or Lucas additive ?
