"Lubriplate" on diesel injectors

The I&T shop manual wants me to apply "Lubriplate" to the injector shoulder before reassembly. I understand Lubriplate is a brand name, but what kind of lubricant are they referring to in this case?

- A heavy duty grease, with or without solid lubricants??

- A paste containing, copper, graphit, moly or a metal free one??

It is likely a moly paste used as a anti-gallant to prevent the injectors from seizing in their seat. Lubriplate may make a graphite enhanced paste for this application.

My guess would be a grease w/o solids.

When using "Lubriplate" to indicate a lube rather than a brand, that would be a reference to a white or ivory color grease that was often applied to door latches, weapon slides, as well as other things. It had the advantage that it would not look as bad if you got a spot of it on your clothing. It's probably a white lithium grease. It was not very tacky (stringy) , if I remember correctly

OK, this is pretty much like people in Germany saying "Glysantin" when they are talking about antifreeze or coolant.

Monopolism would make life so much easier.

Stanadyne wants you to use Lubriplate brand 630-AA number 1 white grease. We (Stanadyne employees at their engineering center) use this grease for injector and pump assembly. We typically use the 1.75 oz tubes.

This is exactly what grease you would order if you went to a Stanadyne (Roosamaster) dealer and asked for Lubriplate.

Sorry, I don't have a part number, I just get a tube of white grease out of the crib when needed......
