I have a 1994 Mazda MX6 with the 2.5 V6 and 81,000 miles. It is clean, always ran Mobil 1 or Schaefers and used Auto Rx once before. Last week changed the oil with Schaefers 5w30 blend, auto-rx and a new Purolater filter. The oil pressure sender has less than 1000 miles on it. Now the oil pressure light flickers at idle after 15 minutes of driving. If I rev it up it goes out. I do use a 1993 Corvette ZR1 application filter as it is oversize although the bypass is 16 pounds and the Mazda filter bypass is 8-11 pounds, but have never had a problem. Any ideas? I am ready to change oil, filter and sender.

Instant clogging? I have only driven 88 miles since adding the new oil and Auto-Rx. I am not going to sit in traffic with a flickering oil light. I will consider the T and oil gauge.
Maybe the ARX has removed enough crud to allow the sender to work properly.
Auto-Rx is in the process of not only cleaning your engine also the internal sensors, which get very dirty, after your rinse cycle is completed the light will not flicker at idle or any other time.This is a cleaning issue and has no bearing on your oil pressure.
So even though the oil pressure sender is brand new, with only about 200 miles on it before the Auto-RX, enough sludge is now flowing around from other parts of the engine to create false low readings as the sludge flows by the sender?
Maybe the sensor is clogged up..can you easily remove it and try cleaning it out?
I would wait untill the Auto rx treatment is complete.

I would Tee an analog pressure gage at the sender and see what my REAL oil pressure might be.

I initially had the Purolater then switched to the Fram 3985. It made no difference. According to the guys at www.probetalk.com who have switched to this filter, and have oil pressure gauges, it raises your oil pressure. Yesterday I bought a Mazda oil pressure switch from the dealer and changed it out this morning, replacing the $12 one I got at Fairfax Auto Parts. Waiting for storms to pass before driving it.
The replacement Mazda OEM oil pressure sender took care of my flickering oil pressure light at idle. I guess it was all false readings from the cheap aftermarket sender. Live and learn, some things are best purchased from the dealer.
I experienced the exact same situation with my 1997 VW Passat. I did a oil change, got the new oil hot, added ARX, and after a 5 minute test drive the low oil warning lamp illuminated.
The difference is that mine didn't go out with reving the engine. After several restarts the light stopped coming on.
I have not had a issue with it since. I am convinced that there is enough trash in the engine to causes problems with the sensor. When I drained the oil there was plenty of loose carbon in the canister and imbedded in the filter pleats.
