Low NOACK oils

Good point. I thought Blackstone or WIX lab in Atlanta could do it for extra cost. Unsure though

Exactly. It was courtesy of Pennzoil reps in the BITOG Q & A. Isn't it ironic ? We all remember PUP, PP and even Pennzoil conventional having very low NOACK in the not too distant past.

This is food for thought. Apparently, good enough will do with NOACK. That time PQIA caught Valvoline with that lime green bottle stuff containing a NOACK of slightly over 15% may have changed the world. Who knows.

I used to fixate on VI...then NOACK...now it's all about low SAPS.

LOL. Valvoline Nextgen. One batch tested over the limit. The NOACK was 15.6%. Oh, the humanity.

BITOG got the collective pitchforks and torches ready.

We will not be deceived.

BITOG was on fire with guesses as to what was going on...then a new result came in a over 10% as one might expect from a conventional quite some time later.

Adam-PYB at one time had some extremely low NOACK numbers, in the 6% range, that seemed to suggest GTL usage (even in conventional oil), but it's been higher recently. I was using synthetic blends like the MC Premium Synthetic Blend or Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend and the Ford Ranger began consuming them. Additionally, I would notice startup rattle beginning about 1500 to 2000 miles into the oil change. I switched to Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic and the consumption stopped and so did the startup rattle. After the second load of Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic, the slight amount of pinging I had at roughly 2000-2100 RPMs while under load stopped. I like this oil.
