Oil Drain Pan for low slung sports car
I need an oil drain pan that is no more than 5" high, and holds 12 Qts. It also need to be an enclosed type to prevent oil from splashing all over the place.

Any ideas? Using ramps or jacking up the car for an oil change is getting old.

I should have mentioned that it's a dry sump system with a separate tank - no way to snake an extractor down into the bottom of the engine, which keeps another few Qts. when you drain the tank. There are 2 different drain plugs.

there are several 6" ones (that don't fit) - I just need a tad shorter

Get a concrete/mud mixing pan. A 10 gallon should fit. They're flexible and easy to trim down with a utility knife if need be.

They're cheap and they work well in cars where the oil comes out FAST.

I'm looking for an enclosed drain pan, 5" ht. that holds 12 Qts.

Thx

I understand.

Try one of the two posted above and deal with the mess when they overflow.

Better, imho, to just wipe some splashing from the bottom of the engine.

I wish you luck in your endeavor.

What’s wrong with ramps?
Its probably too low to get up without smacking the air dam on the ramp as it starts up the ramp:( . Thats getting pretty common these days with regular cars. I just toss a couple of 4' pieces of 2x6 in front of the ramps to get the front end far enough up to climb the ramp without hitting. Its certainly not something professional but I still find it easier simpler than jacking on those rather nasty jack points you're stuck using today. l
