It's an odd movie with an interesting premise that has been dealt with by Star Trek. Or maybe Enemy Mine wanted to be like one of the low-cost filler episodes of Star Trek. Nevertheless, Enemy Mine has some things going for it and Drac was an interesting character played very well by Louis Gosset Jr. That said, the story would work perfectly fine between two marooned humans and the sci-fi setting is unnecessary in terms of the character-driven story and ideas that are addressed. Red Letter Media has a good video in which Mike and Jay discuss Enemy Mine.
Did I mention Iron Eagle rocks - or rather rocked? Keep in mind I was ten and my entertainment threshold was low. The movie was a tween/teen fantasy. Iron Eagle was aimed at a younger audience than Top Gun. Did you know Iron Eagle was released before Top Gun and that Chappie was inspired by a real general?
