Loudest tires I've ever had.

Cooper were/are OEM for Ford
Toyo OEM Audi Ford Infinity Lexus Lincoln Mazda Mitsubishi Ram Toyota
Falken View attachment 229261
Kumho View attachment 229262

Hankook are OEM on Porsche and Mercedes. All off brand tires for sure.
That just means they were the lowest bidder. Name brand to me is Goodyear, BFG, Firestone, Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli, Continental, etc.

Look at this page. The off brand tires are at the bottom, called economy and budget. Those are the crap tires that shouldn’t be bought.

How many here on BITOG, let alone the average Joe Blow on the street, have ever heard of Federal Tires? I consider myself fairly well informed in tires, as I'm a little bit ocd when researching new tires. But I have never heard of Federal. Mickey Thompson, yes. Hoosier, yes. Even Moroso. But not Federal.

But I could be the odd one out. Maybe everyone else here knows Federal Tires.
I owned a set of Federal's. They were on a 2003 Evo VIII.

I just installed a set Nitto NT-01 200 treadwear with half tread depth on my 2012 Camry SE just for fun. We have 20+ roundabouts around town and this car is a total blast to drive now and a great sleeper. Tires are very quiet but expensive at $ 800 for 235/45-17's. I have the same tire on my 55 Chevy with C4 suspension that can surprise you how well it sticks. Auto crossed it once and they were impressive and worked great. Plan on auto crossing the Camry too. I love sticky tires.

It's a "gumball" tire. Sticky. Won't last long and has other compromises but will hold the road. Looks like it's on a fun car. Send it.

Yup. I would agree that the bottom two categories are what I would call off brand tires.

Don't worry @atikovi, it doesn't matter, who ever buys that car will either

a. not hear the tire noise because they are revving the engine all the time
b. playing some horrible music too loud
c. enjoy the tire noise because they think they are a racecar driver now

Lol, they won't be for long. I tracked NT-01's and once they start wearing even a little bit they sound like a set of mud boggen truck tires.

Still, a good long-wearing trackday tire if you're not super serious about your lap times. They give tons of fun for the price.
