Looking under a friends oil cap, scary?

Definitely condensation guys. I wiped the filler cap and all down the neck clean, drove it down to autozone for MAF sensor cleaner and came back(short trip less than 2 miles round trip), and it ALREADY had the entire filler cap covered with moisture. I suggested adding a complete fuel system cleaner and changing out the Fuel Filter afterward, since it was flagged as a possible culprit for her CEL and it's got over 200k miles and she doesn't know when the filter was last replaced.

Cleaned the MAF and told her to drive it 30+ miles round trip on the interstate and check if the goo comes back or not. I strongly doubt it would, as it's a product of all of her short tripping. Though I suppose some may still appear even with more highway miles to offset the short trips.

Also, I replaced the cone intake filter(looked like a FRAM) with a new A34878 Purolator. The FRAM didn't seat well in the air-box and it was moving loosely, the new air filter fit snug and sealed well, making the clamp more of a 'challenge' to reinstall, so I know it's sealed finally and now I question if the old filter sealed at all. The old air filter was physically damaged, looking as though it was moving around too freely(no tears in the media, though).

Sometimes I wonder if there's more blow-by with higher mileage engines. I have quite a bit of condensation on my BMW, but the cap is above a bunch of baffles, and I work 1.4 miles away from home. I can shake water off the cap.

The OBDII code should tell you left or right bank for the O2 senor... might save you some time.

Negatory on near WOT blast in attempts to warm it up.That's probably doing more harm than good plus burning gas you didn't need to. She may consider riding around in third if the speeds never get over 40-45 MPH in stop and go situations. One, it makes it easy are the transmission, two it was decrease any lugging of the motor, if applicable, and three it puts a little more PRM on the tach without using inducing too much extra load. Just my humble opinion.

You know, as I recall the code did mention which bank. How do I determine which bank refers to which side of the vehicles exhaust system? Is left driver side and right passenger, etc?

^ It probably said bank 1 or bank 2.Not left or right. My bad.

Bank 1=Passenger said of the motor
Bank 2= Well you guessed it... haha

Well, if the CEL comes back on that will be a big help, I'll have the lady read me off the print out from Autozone's scan again to find out bank 1 or bank 2. Thank you.
