I am going to be installing a magnefine inline filter on my ATF line on my 2002 buick century. Is anyone familiar with this setup and knows what is the best place to splice the line?

It should be the only rubber line down there right?

If the lines are on the passengers side of the radiator tank the upper one is the return.
You can verify at the transmission. The one that goes straight in (the lower of the two) is the return, the one with a u bend and goes up into the transmission is the out.

Actually it does not matter which line unless you have had a transmission failure which could have left [censored] in the cooler itself. This is according to Magnefine who answered an email.

The return line will be slightly cooler in temp after a 15 minute drive.

In my Dodge Ram I found a nicer spot in the supply line and installed it there.

I did install only the inlet hose, and put the outlet side of the filter into a empty water bottle and ran the engine briefly to double check I had it in the proper direction. Note some engines need to be in neutral rather than park to run the transmission pump.

I have no idea where I'm going to put it yet as I can't see much with how low it is to the ground. I guess I'll have to put it up on ramps to get a better idea. I can't find any pictures on the Google machine.

I still haven't ordered the filter yet does anyone know the hose size GM used this year? I think i can figure it out but wanted to be more sure.

I tried to look at it with a flashlight from above and all i can see is some metal lines that turn into rubber lines, two of them coming off the top of the transmission from the drivers side of the car and going towards the radiator but can't find out exactly where they go. These hoses are too short to splice and in a hot location near the header, i don't think they would be ideal for a filter.
