Greetings, while rebuilding my tecumseh 2005 engine, I appear to have somehow lost what I believe to be the ignition cut off key terminal (where the red key goes on the carb cover). Does anyone know what the part number would be?

Engine model: LH358SA
Spec: 159532Z
Engine family: 5TPXS 3582BF

I have no idea what part you are looking for but is it like this one?

I honestly don’t know what the part is called, which is why I’m having trouble finding it, but I can describe it.

It’s the part where the red key goes in, the slot that holds it. As of now, there’s no holder for the key it just flops in the little cut out because whatever goes there is missing. When the key is pulled out, the engine shuts off, and when put back in, it can be started again.

I think you are looking for the key switch assembly. I found this one and some others on eBay for a snowblower:

Tecumseh Key Switch
That is the right idea. But I am not sure it would cleanly work on your 2005 Tecumseh. You could make it work but why if you do not have to. I looked up the exploded view and I think it is part of the carburetor cover assembly. Part number 36547A. Look on ebay for a used carb cover. Make sure the piece you need is part of it. Being used it may be missing. That is what I would do.

Here is a picture of it. It is shown as part of the carb cover assy.
