Im looking for an oil with alot of moly in it.
When my car was on its factory fill it used to average 26mpg now that I switched to pp its only getting around 24. I think this engine might like a high moly oil like it had with its break in oil.

Any recommendations for something I can get off the shelf with alot of moly in it?

What kind of vehicle???
Mileage on vehicle??
Do you know the factory fill oil brand??

PP is a fabulous oil. I wouldnt give up on it just yet!!!
Im also not sure if high-moly is what you need for good MPG.

I suspect that moly has nothing to do with your gas mileage. I think that your mileage dropped because you switched to a higher viscosity oil.

Bingo!

Trust me, if moly alone in oil gave a MPG boost, we would all know it. It doesn't.

Im thinking that I changed the factory fill way to early to synthetic and the engine never acquired a nice coat of moly. When I changed oils I noticed a nice extra thick fluid layer that came out of the sump Im pretty sure that was molybdenum that had partially settled out.

Each engine responds differently to each oils, Im thinking this might be this engines magic bullet.

Did some reading found a Halvoline UOA with 300ppm moly in 5w30 trim. I think thats going to be my play (its lower viscosity then the others too), unless I can find something better (and off the shelf)
