I trust I can stay under $100, if not please post your thoughts. So many cheap models and many mixed reviews, I'd rather pay a little more for a good, repeatable item. What is your goto model?

Mainly for auto, but home use is also good.

I bought this inexpensive Elitech model in 2020 with very low expectations. However, to my great surprise, it works nearly as well as the $300 units we used at work. I have used it a dozen times and have found leaks involving R12, R22 and R-134a without difficulty. I like that it has the visual bar display as well as the audible beep signals. Color me impressed!

I recently bought the new Icon one from HF but have not used it yet. One of the mobile repair guys on YT that I watch uses one and it seems to work well.
