looking for a good HDEO 5w-30

I am looking for a good HDEO 5w30 preferably synthetic. I am running the amsoil 5w30 HDD and I like it but am sick of having to plan ahead for changes so I am looking for alternatives It is for a Jeep 4.0l Inline 6 and yes yadda yadda a regular oil is adequate for that flat tappet motor, I don't agree I want a HDEO. I am running the 5w-40 Rotella syn in my dodge dart Slant six I just want to stay out of a 40 weight if possible. the jeep is a daily driver and i want to keep it light ( I know how demanding of me wanting a light weight fuel efficient HDEO)

Amsoil HDD is about the only 5w30 HD oil out there. Anything else, you'll still have to order. Just keep a decent stock, but all things considered, this oil is one of the most capable ultra long drain oils out there.

Just make sure the engines up to it with a used oil analysis.

Off the shelf options are limited for a 5w30 HDEO. I would use a 5w-40 so you get good protection for the cold winters and hot (desert) summers. I use either 5w-40 or a thick 0w30 in my Jeep 4.0. Why not try the 5w-40 once and see if the fuel economy changes? Short of that I would just stay with the HDD 5w30 and keep a few gallons on hand. The price is only going to go up.

Your only alternative Delo 400 0w-30. I don't know how much you'll have to buy even if a distributor is willing to get it for you. If you get to Canada, XD-3 0w30 is available

The Delo, although I'm sure it's a decent oil, doesn't seem to have the TBN of it's 5w-40 counterpart ..nor HDD's...

In the summer there is always straight 30 too...gotta love it (NOT).

There are several HDEO 0w-30/5w30 oils but none are off the shelf.

BP-Castrol makes a 5w30 also, I believe its called Exilium, or something similar.

Elixion 5w30 by Castrol. There's a used oil analysis in a gas engine on it. CA around 4000, not even 'S' rated. 11.7@ 100C. PAO-based.
