I used to run 10kms OCI's in my m20 e30 with Mobil 1 15w50 in the summer months, but since I moved to a place where I drive MAYBE 5kms in 6 months, I'm thinking I dont' need a syn anymore (shorter OCI's, warmer year round temps).

I'm currently running Castrol Hypuron 15w40 with good results, but I'm afraid of the moly amounts given it's a diesel oil (heard that there's too little moly for the solid lifters).

I really don't wanna waste the syn by draining it too early.

Is there a good conventional oil that I can run for 5kms OCI's?
P.S. my car does not burn or leak any oil
thanks in advance

Lurbo Moly 10w-40 anti-friction oil.Has lots of Moly inside, Should be fine fore 5k.
Cost around 28$ for 5 liters in NAPA, about same on Ebay. If it's to much, I would go Mobil 5000 + Can of Moly(Lubro(Liqui) Moly brand again) additive( under 5$ in Napa).
But I believe German oil works better for german cars

I always used dino Castrol 20w50 in my E30s back in the day, of course that was way before BITOG, but anyways, I never had any problems. One of them was well over 300K.

The E30 engines are pretty low tech compared to modern BMW engines, no VANOS, turbos, drive by wire, or anything like that. Don't know why you need an oil with a lot of moly, a diesel oil should have a decent amount of ZDDP and that should be fine. $0.02.

Any decent 15w40 HDEO will do the job more than well.

I started my E30 for the first time in 4 months this arv, cranked for around 5 seconds and fired right up...
