Looking for a 24" bathroom vanity - why are the cheapest ones at HD better reviewed than mid-priced?

No retail stores around here. So probably going to be Home Depot delivered. Nothing special bathroom.

The cheapest Glacier Bays (which I think were sub-$100 a couple of years back) seem to have better reviews than many of the mid-tier ones, say, double the price. I mean a few of those somewhat more expensive ones have comments like "it got a little wet and the entire side veneer bubbled and peeled off."

Is it people have lower expectations for the basic ones? Or more the synthetic material, the better (until you get up to real cabinetry)?

Appreciate any comment.

We had water damage and are restoring our bathroom. We just got a $700+ vanity from HD that is very nice and seems high quality. Not sure your budget but that might put it in perspective regarding price and quality

Paid influencers? Folks given them free for a favorable review?

My bet is that the mid priced ones are made with the same press board and lousy construction as the cheap one, yet folks paid more expecting more. No dice.
This!

Thanks for the comments.

Agree it's likely you'd have to quadruple or quintuple the basic-unit price to that range mentioned above, to be more sure of quality. (Rather than just getting an additional feature in the mid-range - like a drawer in addition to doors - but the same materials.)

Even though this is not for any grand powder room, it would have been nice to see and touch such an item in person. I vaguely remember local stores once existed, had them on display, and would deliver/install.

It's just too bad none of those TV shows where they use their own budget to separately buy (or build) an ideally sized cabinet, then add a top, and fit a carefully selected sink with custom piping, want to come out to the house...
