It seems like all the 110vac and 12v portable air compressors for inflating tires all are very light duty and wear out rapidly. I have seen hybrid units that run off both 110 or 12 but not recently and all had bad reviews.

I need to inflate pickup truck tires to 60-70 psi moderately often so the little crap I’ve always had is far from ideal.

Not sure if anything reliable exists anymore without having a 50lb shop air that isn’t portable

I bought this Kobalt compressor from Lowes a couple years ago. Does 150 psi, no too loud, not very heavy.

I also have a Viair 88P that I carry for beach. It does 120psi and clips to battery not power outlet.

I like the Milwaukee inflator is nice and on my list. For travels my concern is the rechargeable battery dying and no charger with me.

All my cars have this inexpensive Harbor Freight one that works well and comes in the bag (that fits a plug kit also). They ave been used MANY times for top off and usually to help others. I used it on my trailer and brought those tires to 60 psi.

Project farm did a review. If you don't need the cigarette lighter 12v cord along with the 110v I'd go for the Home Depot Husky.

The husky you plug in , I believe is discontinued, at my local HD I could only find Makita and other random units including battery powered.

I have both the M18 inflator and a Vair 88p. The Vair is great I've had it for over 10 years.

M18 inflator is good and easy to use. Ive found it's not super accurate for small top up's but you'll be at least ~1 PSI that you set. . Minor thing but if I bring it to Autox I'd use it to go over and bleed with another gauge.

For 110v
Id look at https://www.harborfreight.com/2-gal...-hand-carry-jobsite-air-compressor-64596.html

What about a pancake compressor like roofers use?
I hd one of those for a while. I got it because it was oilless, and notionally the tank could help knock out water. It was painfully slow if you had to add much air.

We have a DeWalt battery unit that is really good. I also have a 120V husky one that someone gifted to me. It works quite well.

As others have said, M18 inflator hands down. I have used it often and for towing needing to top off 8 tires one after another ignoring duty cycle. Get the locknflate quick attachment. The warranty and the process is excellent. I have a heavy duty smittybilt with a car battery as a backup but it’s collecting dust.

Cordless inflator by Milwaukee or Ryobi. If you already have those batteries.

How about a small HF air compressor? One you can carry.

I use a cordless inflator 99% of the time

I use a two gallon 110 V compressor, and then let it build up to its max when dealing with truck tires requiring 40 and 50 psi. It takes a long time to move from say 40 to 50 with large tires. That little compressor doesn’t take up too much space.

I've had the Milwaukee M12 for years; flat out love it. Use it all the time. The M18 is better, of course.
Get one of those JACO Lightning extensions!

The Viair sure looks like it is the best by far. They do sell parts for these, it probably uses teflon rings instead of a rubber o ring which gives it the 100% duty cycle for 1 hour, most of the others are 10 min.

This 100% duty cycle unit is capable of pressures up to 150 PSI and can be operated for up to 1 hour at a time before needing to be rested (at up to 100 PSI).

Why no love for the Dewalt inflator? I have filled/inflated many tires in the 2 years I've had mine. Easy to use and accurate. if you have Dewalt batteries and you can get a 120volt adapter for it for the really big jobs
