I need some lube for poly sway bar end link bushings, they're a pain to take apart and re-lube so I need a penetrating spray.
I have used zep 2000 at work and it seams ok, but I have no idea how long it lasts.
whats the recommendation for a long lasting, water resistant penetrating lube?

I was looking at the install procedure for the bushings on myy wife's vehicle and the Haynes Manual says "Vegetable Oil" that's right,-cooking oil. Also states not to use petroleum or mineral based lubricants.

maybe this will help its a'' fake oil name'' Canola ! never use it in food !!!

All the stuff listed really smell bad. PB Blaster has a product out thats called CSP Corrosion Stop Protector. Its in between WD and grease in viscosity and does not smell and is excellent for car undercarriage. Its spray grease that won't drip off.I have srpayed the undercarriage of my new car since I boufght it about 3 years ago and its mint under. Not one speck of rust and no sqeeks or rattles.
Only place I have found it is in Home Depot.

50/50 Mix of acetone and auto transmission fluid in spray bottle. I heard about it from local machine shop/welding place that regularly works on dump trucks and big CAT equipment.

Tried it over the years here on old tractors and farm equip and seems to work well.

+1

I think there is a difference between a penetrating fluid and a protectant. WD 40 started life as a corrosion protection fluid. "Water Dispersant".

Acetone would NOT be a good idea to be spraying on your rubber or poly bushings! I can see it working great as a penetrant on metal items when mixed with ATF though...
