Heres my current problem. Ive got two cars. My 07 yaris and my 95 del sol. I drive them 60 mile apiece a week and that comes to being barely under 3k a year per car if I dont change from that pattern, which I generally dont. So realistically thats 1 oil change a year. I want an oil thats going to last the year. So Im really interested in Castrol Edge, Mobil 1 Extended Performance and Pennzoil Ultra for their 1 year OCI claims. I leaning towards Ultra because Im all about Penz and QS. I wanna hear what the other oil enthusiasts have to say about it.

3000 miles in one year. Any oil can do that. With ease. Especially in those rides.

You don't need to "pay up" for Ultra or Edge or Mobil 1 Extended Performance. Whatever makes you feel good will work fine.

10+ OCIs with EP has not been any problem at all. Any of the oils you listed will be fine for one year and only 3K. I know XM guarantees EP for up to a year, which will fit into your mileage needs.

From my understanding over time oil does break down on its own just sitting in your car. So thats my whole deal with wanting a 15k or 1 year OCI oil. Willing to dish out for the expensive stuff if its only going to be once a year.

Incorrect,,many people including myself have used oil that's two three five years old and no issues with it it's no different in your car.

if the car is ran every so often there's no problem.

No kidding? Two years!! Nice, but how could you wait that long?! You had to have the craving of a good oil change at least for a year and a half of it.

If thats the truth then that makes me feel better. Cant remember which oil companys website I read that on.

There are tons of synthetics that will last a year.

The diesel truck engine oils are popular around here, like Shell Rotella T6, Mobil Delvac 1, etc.

I've got a Camaro in storage at this very moment that's a weekend warrior only that has 3 year old oil that looks like new.

my kids sunfire takes over a year to accumulate a OCI.

i wait because i'm not waisting perfectly good usable oil.
