If your stove is electric you could plug a 220v welder in using an adapter.

The chances of finding an electric stove in the same dwelling as a gas drier is..........not good.
 
Yeah, we're in Southern California. Pretty much all appliances are gas because electricity is expensive here. I'm not welding frames or anything. Just want to make little things and make minor repairs when possible. I welded up the clutch linkage on my 67 Ford truck and its held up for about 2 years now. That's thicker than 1/4" for sure, but I ground the edges to a 45 degree angle to really penetrate. Seems to have worked.
