I've noticed they have hydraulic lift carts to help get things like generators into the back of a truck. The problem is now I'm able to get that heavy item in my truck, but now I'm stuck with a heavy hydraulic cart that weighs 150 pounds. Anyone know of any other items made to help with this?

It's pretty hard to get a 300 pound generator up some ramps. I'm starting a small engine repair business and I can get lawn mowers and that sort of thing up ramps, but when it comes to heavier things I have a hard time and I don't like to have to ask people for help. I'm fixing them out of my house and it's a pain every time somebody has a generator cause I take them to a storage unit when I'm done fixing stuff.

That's awesome! lol I just don't know if I could do that to my truck though.

If this is going to be something you are doing for a bit, I'd get a Tommy Gate. I think Harbor Freight sold a bed mounted crane like the one above that installed in the stake pockets. It's not a permanent mount.

Harbor Freight has this one for $99.99 that tucks away inside the bed when not in use.

Or there's this one that mounts in your receiver hitch

I bought a 5x8 trailer to haul things I need help with as I am in the same boat. You can just roll a tiller or disabled mower up the fold down gate when you need to load something bulky or heavy and it's really low to the ground.

I suppose I could get a cart and then maybe an engine hoist to lift stuff off the cart. I suppose the engine hoist would come in handy for lifting other things too.

If your going to work it you need a rack body with a lift gate, pickup beds offer limited room.

My truck had a crane like that in before I got it.....its just four small holes in the bed, just consider them drain holes like the ones that are behind the cab.

Yeah man, these new trucks DO sit up. I think I may need a booster stool to change the plugs.

x2. My 5x8 trailer with a ramp is worth its weight in gold. I will never own a truck.
